Taken out for the day

As some of you know I am disabled and at times I rely on my good friend Matt to take me out and to help with my F1 wheelchair...well today was one of those days, it was a foggy start to the day here in Ipswich...Matt loaded the car with all my camera kit & my tripod, he then took me to Felixstowe Ferry (the outlet for the river Deben) it was a very atmospheric morning as the fog was making the place feel very airy and we managed to get some shots off the stunning foggy landscape ...

Next stop was the Strand on the outskirts of Ipswich and the sun was breaking through and this sunlight lit the Orwell bridge up very nicely, by now most of the fog was lifting and after a short journey we stopped at a well know place that have been turned into many a good painting, that being Pin Mill,no paintbrushes today as Matt is not an artist, he is brilliant with a lens and a camera, yet again we took several photographs as the tide was out and we could access the concrete path that went out towards the River Orwell (this is submerged at high tide)...

The best thing about Pin Mill is that there is a good art/photographic gallery and they make a top notch cup of coffee and stunning home made flapjack, to round the day of we went to Shotley, this was once the home of the Royal Navy training base, alas the tall mast has seen better days and is gradually falling into disrepair...

So Matt & I finished the day by photographing the very large container ships that were moored at the Port of Felixstowe...as you can imagine I am now very tired and I ache in so many places even though I took things very easy and I used my crutches and wheelchair to get the photographs...who knows once I upload them from my camera to my computer I may attempt to replicate some as paintings or perhaps I will include some of the photographs in my blog latter...
